Navigating the Challenges of Workforce Housing in Milwaukee
During a recent roundtable discussion with Milwaukee-area real estate leaders, our CEO S.R. Mills, emphasized the avid demand for workforce housing in the city. Here at Bear Development, we’re making strides to meet this demand by planning to construct 700 units of workforce housing in downtown Milwaukee, targeting households earning 40% to 80% of the area’s median income. We’ve found that demonstrating the success of previous affordable housing projects is an effective way to alleviate community fears and opposition. We’ve experienced this firsthand in communities like Downtown Milwaukee, Union Grove, and Mt. Pleasant, WI.
