Milwaukee Affordable Housing Development Sets Statewide Benchmark

The Corliss is set to become the largest private affordable housing development in Wisconsin, bringing 576 affordable housing units to Milwaukee across eight buildings. The $197 million project includes 144 senior-designated units and relies on a complex funding structure involving National Housing Trust funds, tax incremental financing and a Brownfield Cleanup Revolving Loan. Bear Development’s work on the former Filer & Stowell site reflects the growing need for affordable housing, as well as the importance of public-private collaboration in moving large-scale developments forward.
